Above all, the experiment we have carried out here marks the increasing simultaneity of design and production tools. It is part of a general trend towards immediacy of materialization: time is shrinking between the moment of the idea - once a mere presage, a distant phantom of the thing - and the moment of the object's three-dimensional presence. Soon, no one will be involved except the designer and the machine: the conceptual process is immediately linked to the production tool.
